Privacy Policy
Effective July 23, 2026
Briteread turns web pages into a cleaner reading view. Reader extraction happens on your device. Briteread does not store chapter text, search queries, or your browsing history on its servers during normal app use.
1. Information stored on your device
Briteread stores your reading list and resume history, current chapter and page, reader preferences, daily reading-time usage, rewarded reading-time balance, an anonymous Briteread user identifier, and a device account token. This information supports resume, reader settings, free-time limits, rewards, and subscription access. You can clear reading-list history in the app. Removing the app generally removes its local data, subject to platform backup behavior.
2. Information processed by Briteread services
When cloud synchronization is enabled, Briteread may process an anonymous user identifier, a one-way hash of the device account token, reading-time and reward counters, subscription entitlement status, rewarded-ad verification events, and limited request metadata needed for security and operation. Briteread does not need your name, email address, or payment-card details to create the current guest reader profile.
3. Subscriptions and purchases
Briteread uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat and the relevant store, such as Apple or Google, may process the anonymous Briteread user identifier, product identifiers, receipts, purchase dates, renewal or expiration status, and diagnostics. Briteread does not receive your full payment-card details.
4. Advertising
The free version may use Google AdMob to serve and measure banner and rewarded ads. Depending on your device, region, and consent choices, Google and its advertising partners may process advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, device identifiers, app information, ad views and clicks, other app interactions used for ad measurement, crash logs, performance data, diagnostics, and consent choices. Briteread uses an anonymous user identifier and ad event identifiers to support rewarded reading time. Privacy choices will be available in the app when required.
5. Search engines and websites
Your search terms and web requests go directly to the search engine or website you choose. Those third parties process information under their own policies. Reader mode temporarily extracts readable content in the app so it can be displayed in a custom format. Briteread does not control third-party websites and does not send extracted chapter text to Briteread's cloud service.
If you choose to report a Reader mode problem, Briteread stores the reported page URL, your selected reason and note, and limited technical details such as app and rule versions, text and page counts, language, and navigation availability. Reports do not include cookies, page HTML, screenshots, or chapter text.
6. How information is used
- Provide browsing, reader, resume, subscription, and reward features.
- Keep free reading-time and bonus balances consistent.
- Prevent duplicate rewards, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Diagnose failures and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal and store-platform obligations.
7. Sharing
Briteread does not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to operate the app, including Cloudflare for hosting and data storage, RevenueCat and app stores for purchases, and Google AdMob and enabled ad partners for advertising. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.
8. Retention and deletion
On-device history remains until you remove it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Signed-in readers can delete their account and associated cloud data in Profile by choosing Delete account and confirming. This removes the linked account profile, authentication-provider link, cloud entitlement and reward state, and Reader report records that are no longer shared with another reporter. Deleting an account does not cancel an active store subscription; manage or cancel it through the App Store or Google Play account that made the purchase. Limited records may be retained only where required to comply with law or resolve a security, fraud, or payment dispute.
9. Your choices
You can clear reading-list history, manage or cancel subscriptions through your store account, restore purchases, use available advertising privacy controls, and choose which search engine or website to visit. Device settings may also let you limit tracking or reset an advertising identifier.
10. Children
Briteread is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. The app can open third-party web content that Briteread does not control. If you believe a child provided personal information to Briteread, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
11. Security and international processing
Briteread uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their legal safeguards and contractual commitments.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Briteread changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. For privacy questions or requests: support@pacmefund.com
